Time to Meet the Family

Not that there are very many of them left, but schedules and long-term plans permit us a small window of opportunity to venture off in a totally different direction, travel-wise. So next week, it's off to Scotland and Tenerife. Steve will be meeting my aunt (mum's sister) and my sister. And let's not forget Lupo.

The past week has been a blur of arranging three flights, five train journeys, a coach ride, an apartment, three different hotels. I finally got there though and everything should run like clockwork. Or at least I hope so. I learned a lesson a few years back, not to depend on British Rail to run on time to get me to a flight, so each flight is pre-empted by an overnight stay at the airport hotel. That time, I missed my Tenerife flight by a half hour even though I'd built in a three-hour safety margin, because the conductor on the train got clouted on the head just outside York and they refused to move until another one could be found. I was prepared to take charge of the whistle and punch tickets, but I'm sure the union wouldn't have allowed it.

We're looking forward to some more time together before THE time together starts. And what can I say, I'm tickled pink to be seeing my darling Lupo again :) :) :) :) It has been over a year since my last visit and I've missed him.

Let's hope Rhona behaves - so that I don't have to worry about putting up with too much nonsense from her, we're staying in another apartment and not sharing mine with her. So we can walk away if it comes to that. I'm hoping it doesn't come to that, mind you.
