My life and Steve's life, our life, will change forever on that date. He's arriving at 10:15pm. Finally, we shall have togetherness on a 24/7 basis, rather than as it has been, on a text/phone/email/trip basis.
A large bookshelf and six-drawer bureau have been purchased, just for him. I need to clear some hanging space in my wardrobe this weekend. Our first shopping trip will be to buy a new bed, our bed. And in a couple of months, when my lease is up, we'll be looking for an apartment with more space and an extra bedroom for when his boys visit.
Steve has a very tough couple of weeks ahead and an especially hard day, on the 18th, when he flies out to his new life in Hong Kong. I wish we could have everything we want, everything everyone wants, but right now this is what we need, to be together.
Are we excited about this? You can bet your sweet bippy we are!! Oh wow, just oh wow :)
The picture is because.......we love pretzeling.

Awww... am giggling in anticipation here too. Great to know nothing will be keeping you guys apart now. Good for you! :)))
Good news! Big change for Steve, eh? Did he get the teaching job?
Not to mention having to leave his boys behind, that's got to be hard. How often will they get to visit?
Oh, I'm full of questions today! lol
thats so awesome...
i'm so happy for you guys!!
That is great news!! I am so happy for both of you!
so you are finally breaking up his family. proud of yourself?
Thank you Patsy - it is indeed :) Long awaited for, much anticipated, and sure to be a wonderful time for us both :)
Hi Veracity - nothing at all will keep us apart. We've been working towards this moment for a long time :)
Always the questions, John *L*. Big change indeed, an exciting time for him :) He has his teaching qualification and will be looking for the right opportunity once he's here. It will be very hard for him and the boys but thank goodness for modern communications such as the phone, texting, skype and webcams!! We're planning for the first visit next summer, for a few weeks.
Anonymous - well, well it has been a while. You still don't have the balls to identify yourself, I see. Just to clarify - again. 1. I have not broken up anyone's family. 2. Their marriage failed, marriages sometimes do, you know, and that was not because of me. 3. I am proud of my husband and proud of myself and proud of us. 4. I believe having me in their lives will give his boys something positive and I look forward to the friendship we have already started to foster, growing. 5. Get over me, please.
ooooooooooops sorry Soph and Charmed....I jumped over your comments, I think in a rush to deal with the toot that had visited!!! Thank you Soph :) and thank you Charmed, we are sooooooooo excited :) :)
I'm myself very happy for you, ignore Anonymous's comment. It takes two to make a marriage work. It's not easy, been there done that.
I cant wait for our turn to come.
Yay, absence makes the heart grow fonder, but you've waited long enough for this. I'm excited to hear about your adventures there together.
Hi Miranda - That is exactly true. It takes two to make it work, and two to agree that it's over. And they did - he's not the only one to have moved on. Oh hon, I do hope your turn comes very, very soon!!
Green Eyes - good to see you :) Thank you, I've certainly had enough absence...and abstinance *L*. I hope Steve has time to blog about his new life in Hong Kong, I think it will make very interesting reading. Rest assured I'll be letting everyone know about our adventures together :)
Hi love - sorry I am late to this post. How exciting!
Hiya Kimba :) It is indeed. I'm on another furniture search right now, I need a desk - managed to move my dining table and found a corner in that room, to accommodate a desk.
I am squealing with happiness for you! This is THE best news!!! Congratulations on finally beginning this new journey together!
I'm sure it will be difficult for him to leave a certain life and some loved ones behind, but I have no doubt you will both make this work.
I am smiling from ear to ear for you!
Isn't it wonderful, Anna :) Yes, it will be hard, very hard, and I'm sure there are some who are thinking we are selfish bastards and we should have found a better solution, but the reality is, this is the best one for the time being. It's not perfect, it's not what we wanted to do, but with everything weighed up, it's the only one if we wish to be together.
This is so wonderful, Fiona!! What a lovely thing to look forward to.
Thanks for dropping by a lot... I haven't been such a good visitor to my favorite blogs these past few weeks/months but hope to get back on it. And I'll be following your new adventures, you can be sure.
xo
Thank you Marian - we're pretty stoked right now as the days count down!!! I'm sure Steve will find time to blog about his adventures - it will be interesting to see my home through his eyes :) First meal we're having is dim sum at a traditional dim sum restaurant - he loves that!!
